A familiar face underneath...notice the smearing around her mouth...that was the ice cream cone...I love Chic Fil A.
This little girl really pushes my buttons. She has been my more challenging child. Partly because she is a little me. She is very clumsy, moves very fast, loves treats, and is highly emotional. On my most patient days I still feel like I am not quite getting through to her, which is very hard as a parent. Well...she goes through phases of growing up where I just couldn't love her more. Today was one of those days. Her actions showed me that she has learned something from me. I just want to remember some of the cute things she did today so I can try to remember them on her hard days.
For starters I straightened her hair. I have done this a few times and it looks so darling because her hair not done is half curly and it doesn't look the greatest. Well...she looked at herself in the mirror and she said with so much enthusiasm and confidence, "I don't even look like me." She continued to tell me she wanted to look one more time and just kept telling me how much she loved it...it was cute.
After church we were driving to the grandparents and on the way she began singing a song about Jesus. I asked her what song it was and she told me it was one she had made up. Ruby has been doing this for a long while and she has also been more understanding of the religion concept. Sadie, not so much. I loved hearing her use her imagination. She has been saying more sweet comments about Jesus and Religion in general which also makes me happy.
This last little memory made me tear up. We were watching Shrek the final chapter. She was a little frightened of it (it's kind of dark), but still just watching it like normal. All of a sudden she comes and sits next to me and grabs my leg and says, "this part makes me cry"and begins to full on cry. I look up and think it will be a really scary part or something. She continues to tell me it's just so sad because he finds the toy his daughter used to wake him up with and now he is just so lonely. It was so sweet. It made me so happy that she truly does understand how much love there is in a family.
These are small things that are probably very boring to anyone reading this, but it is very rewarding when Sadie does these things.
We already misplaced the glasses...

I might cry...just love her...she loves you so much, and trust me, she learns from you every minute of the day...that's the scary part!!
Love the picture of Sadie with her "straight" hair. She looked so cute that day, but she always looks cute to me.
The thing about Sadie is that she thinks deep thoughts which sometimes makes it seem she is not paying attention. She, however, is not missing one thing! I love her so much!

Love.It.!!!
She is a darling girl, and you are a wonderful mom. A REALLY wonderful mom. I love Sadie's hair straightened. I have been doing the same thing to Savannah's hair lately. She always looks in the mirror and says, "I look so beautiful just like Aunt Shardae!"
